“As a retired biology teacher with a lifelong love of exploring the unknown, I like to introduce narratives that challenge the boundaries of time and reality. I envision a world where my books transport readers to alternate realities and historical moments. Through my writing, I hope to inspire others to explore the limitless possibilities of time, knowledge, and the human experience.
About the Author
Karl Bertain
I am a retired high school biology teacher. Although I taught many areas of science, biology was my favorite. I grew up in the Wisconsin Northwoods, where I developed a love for reading science fiction and adventure novels, with the works of Jules Verne being a particular favorite. I now live in Northern California with my wife and our dog, Lambeau.
After retirement, I decided to put down on paper all the ideas and characters that had been running around in my head. Steps in Time is a book I self-published and primarily sold as an e-book. It explores time travel to historical periods that deeply fascinated me.
In Intruders, I introduce new characters and an alternate series of events leading up to the 1969 moon landing.
I have other books in progress, including one about my years as a teacher and the crazy adventures we had.

Why Choose?
